How to Apply New Battery Adhesive in Your Google Pixel 8

Step 1 | Remove the old adhesive

Apply a few drops of highly-concentrated isopropyl alcohol (over 90%) to the old adhesive.

  • Use the flat end of a spudger and tweezers to remove the remaining adhesive from the frame.
  • Wipe any isopropyl alcohol residue with a lint-free or microfiber cloth.

Step 2 | Apply the adhesive

Remove plastic liner from battery if adhesive is pre-installed.

  • Apply Tesa tape or similar double-sided tape where old adhesive was if none is present.

Reconnect battery connector temporarily while holding battery above its recess.

Press the battery firmly into its recess to secure it with adhesive, ensuring proper fit and seal.

  • Disconnect battery before proceeding.
