Thumbnail 3

Excessive insertion of opening picks can cause device damage.

  • Mark an opening pick by measuring 3 mm from the tip and applying a permanent marker mark.
  • As alternative, affix a coin to the pick using tape, positioned 3 mm from the tip.

Step 3 | Heat the bottom edge adhesive

Step 3 image

Use caution when applying heat to prevent damage to the screen and/or battery.

  • Apply an iOpener to the bottom edge of the screen for two minutes to loosen adhesive.
  • Alternately, use a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate, but be gentle with extreme temperatures.

Step 4 | Secure the Anti-Clamp

Step 4 image
