Inserting an opening pick too far can cause damage to your device.

  • Measure 3 mm from the tip of the opening pick and mark it with a permanent marker.
  • Alternatively, tape a coin to the pick at a distance of 3 mm from the tip.

Step 3 | Heat the bottom edge adhesive

Step 3 image

Extreme heat can damage the screen and/or battery.

  • Apply an iOpener to the bottom edge of the screen for two minutes to loosen the adhesive.
  • Alternatively, use a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate with caution, as they can also soften the adhesive.

Step 4 | Secure the Anti-Clamp

Step 4 image

To use the Anti-Clamp, follow these steps:

  • Pull the blue handle backwards to unlock the Anti-Clamp's arms.
  • Position your phone on an object, screen side up, with the bottom edge hanging off between the Anti-Clamp's arms.
  • Slide the arms over the left edge of your phone for access to the bottom edge.
  • Place suction cups as close to the center of the bottom edge as possible.
  • Squeeze the cups together to create suction.

Make sure the Anti-Clamp is properly secured before proceeding.

Step 5 | Twist the handle

Grasp the handle and pull it forward to secure the arms in place.

  • Turn the handle clockwise by one full rotation (360 degrees) until the suction cups begin to deform.
  • As the cups stretch, ensure they remain aligned; if they continue to slip, remove the Anti-Clamp and apply tape for added adhesion.

Step 6 | Insert an opening pick

Wait one minute for a gap to form between the screen and frame.

  • If the adhesive doesn't separate, twist the handle clockwise one quarter turn and wait another minute. Apply more heat if the screen cools down.
  • Careful, do not insert opening pick more than 3mm to avoid damaging spring contacts.

Do not proceed until gap is visible and adhesive is separated from the frame.

  • Unlock arms by pulling blue handle backwards, then remove Anti-Clamp using pull tabs on suction cups.
  • Step 7 | Apply a suction cup
