A charged lithium-ion battery may catch fire if damaged, so let it drain below 25% first.
Completely power off your phone using this menu.
Press a SIM eject tool, bit, or a straightened paper clip firmly into the SIM card tray hole.
The tray should now eject, allowing you to remove it.
Use an opening pick to separate the screen from the frame.
Inserting the pick too far can damage your device.
Glass shards can cause injury, so proceed with caution.
Using extreme heat may cause damage to the screen and/or battery.
Using the Anti-Clamp: If not employing the Anti-Clamp, skip ahead three steps.
Suction cups must be positioned close to the center of the bottom edge before squeezing them together to create suction.
If suction cups slip, ensure they remain aligned; if necessary, remove Anti-Clamp and apply tape for better adhesion.
Wait one minute for a gap to form between the screen and frame.
Careful not to push the pick too far into the device.
Pull blue handle backwards to unlock arms and remove Anti-Clamp using suction cup tabs.
Attach a suction handle to the center of the screen's bottom edge.
Apply strong, steady pressure to the suction handle until a gap appears between the screen and frame.
If no gap forms, reapply heat before retrying.
Avoid damaging the phone by inserting the pick no more than 3 mm as you separate the screen adhesive.
Extreme heat may damage the screen and/or battery.
Insert a second opening pick at the bottom right corner of the screen.
Insert another opening pick at the bottom edge of the screen.
Apply a iOpener to the left edge of the screen for 2 minutes.
Be careful as extreme heat can damage the screen and/or battery.
Apply a iOpener to the top edge of the screen for 2 minutes.
Be careful not to apply extreme heat, which can damage the screen and/or battery.
Position a small box or stack of books to the left of your phone to prop up the screen.
If the screen feels stuck, use an opening pick to carefully separate any remaining adhesive around the perimeter.
Use a screen cable opener to pry up the upper edge of the screen cable cover.
Insert the point of a spudger under the top right corner of the screen's press connector.
When reconnecting, align the press connector over its socket and gently press down on one side until it clicks into place. Press down on the other side, but never in the middle.
Fragile screen damage occurs easily with small scratches or dents.
During reassembly, if your new screen has pre-applied adhesive, follow these steps:
Remove all liner materials to ensure secure bonding.
Optionally, apply even pressure to strengthen adhesive bond.
Caution: Avoid scraping surface-mounted components.
Extreme heat from tools like a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate may damage the battery.
Use a spudger to pry the 5G mmWave antenna cable away from the midframe.
Hold the 5G mmWave antenna cable at the bottom and carefully pry it loose from the midframe.
Remove the graphite sheet connecting the upper battery, midframe, and rear cameras.
The graphite sheet may tear during removal.
Peel up and remove the entire graphite sheet.
Use the tip of a spudger to carefully lift the plastic shim along the top edge of the USB-C port cover.
Replace or reattach the plastic shim that runs across the midframe and loudspeaker.
Position the shim so the smaller piece of foam aligns with the bottom of the USB-C port cover.
Keep track of each screw and ensure it returns to its original location.
Remove the 7 x 3IP Torx Plus screws using a T3 Torx screwdriver.
Note: These screws are 5 mm in length.
Remove the midframe.
Clean the area thoroughly to avoid thermal paste residue buildup.
Use the pointed end of a spudger to gently pry up and release the battery cable press connector.
Insert the point of a spudger under the front camera press connector.
Remove the front camera.
Insert the pointed tip of a spudger between each connector and the logic board, gently prying them loose.
Hold the 5G mmWave antenna cable out of the way.
Insert the spudger along the right edge of the rear camera assembly.
Pry gently to avoid damaging surrounding components.
Remove the two 3IP Torx Plus screws, secured with a T3 Torx screwdriver, from the 5G mmWave antenna bracket.
Insert the spudger tip into one of the 5G mmWave antenna bracket's screw holes.
Reassembly: Insert the bracket at a downward angle, ensuring spring contacts and foam pads press against the 5G mmWave antenna. Press down firmly to secure.
Hold the 5G mmWave antenna cable and carefully lift the antenna out of its recess.
Insert one arm of a pair of angled tweezers under the metal neck of the black antenna cable coaxial connector on the top left corner of the logic board.
Do not force the connector into place if it does not snap in — this can cause damage. Reposition the connector and try again.
Locate the white antenna cable's coaxial connector on the top left corner of your phone.
Remove the white antenna cable from its clip on the left side of the device by gently pulling it out.
Careful not to damage the logic board — use a spudger to carefully pry up and release the interconnect and ultra-wideband press connectors from their top left corner attachment.
Remove the T3 Torx screw securing the loudspeaker using a T3 Torx screwdriver.
Ensure the correct size and type of driver to avoid damaging components.
Insert a spudger's point between the bottom right edge of the loudspeaker and frame.
Apply even pressure during reassembly, as uneven installation may damage components.
Be cautious when heating the phone — risk of heat damage to the battery.
Avoid overheating the phone to prevent damage to the battery.
Flip the phone over and place it on a workspace.
Position the opening pick along the right edge of the battery, with its flat surface facing the battery's frame.
Do not bend or crease the battery as it may leak chemicals or catch fire.
Do not use a damaged battery — risk of fire.
If reusing your old battery, inspect it carefully:
Follow this guide to remove old adhesive and install a new battery securely.
Remove the 3IP Torx Plus screw secured on the logic board with a T3 Torx screwdriver.
Remove the SIM card tray.
Damage to the logic board can occur if not handled properly.
Insert the pointed end of a tweezers under the antenna cable connector on the logic board.
Be careful not to touch any circuitry with the tweezers' other arm or the tool's tips.
Lift the tweezers straight up to disconnect the cable.
Release the white antenna cable from its clips at the bottom of the logic board.
Avoid damaging the logic board or cable during removal and reinstallation.
Examine and identify the logic board.
