Google Pixel 7 Pro Front Camera Replacement

Discharging the battery below 25% before disassembly reduces the risk of fire if accidentally damaged.

  • Use a replacement adhesive, as reapplying the original will likely compromise water resistance and IP rating.
  • Be aware that your Google Pixel 7 Pro contains class 1 lasers, exposing you to invisible infrared laser emissions during disassembly.

If your battery is swollen, take proper precautions to avoid any potential risks during the repair process.

Step 1 | Safety precautions

Step 1 image

A fully charged battery poses a risk of explosion upon damage.

  • Allow the battery to drain below 25% to prevent explosion hazard.
  • Power down your phone completely and unplug all cables.

Step 2 | Screen removal information

Step 2 image

Thumbnail 3

Do not pry at the screen seam.

  • Pry at the bezel seam where the plastic bezel meets the frame, held in place by plastic clips.
  • Insert opening picks carefully to avoid separating the screen from its safety frame.
  • Limit pick insertion depth to approximately 3.5 mm during removal procedure to avoid damaging internals and interfering with plastic clips.
  • Avoid inserting opening picks too deeply, as this can block them under the screen.

Step 3 | Anti-Clamp instructions

Step 3 image

Thumbnail 2
Thumbnail 3
  • Use the Anti-Clamp tool for easier opening (see linked guide for instructions).
  • If screen is cracked, cover with clear packing tape to aid suction cup adhesion.

Never use the Anti-Clamp if your phone's surface is too slippery.

  • Unlock the Anti-Clamp by pulling the blue handle backwards.
  • Slide arms over phone edge (left or right).
  • Position suction cups near bottom edge, one on front and one on back.
  • Squeeze suction cups together for a secure grip.

Step 4

  • Pull the blue handle forward to lock the arms.
  • Turn the handle clockwise 360 degrees or until the cups start to stretch.
  • Make sure the suction cups remain aligned with each other. If they begin to slip out of alignment, loosen the suction cups slightly and realign the arms.

Step 5

Step 5 image

Use caution when applying heat to avoid damaging display or internal battery.

  • Heat an iOpener and pass it through the Anti-Clamp's arms.
  • Fold the iOpener so it lies on the phone's bottom edge.
  • Wait one minute for adhesive release before proceeding.

Do not crank more than a half turn at a time, and wait one minute between turns.

Continue until the Anti-Clamp creates a sufficient gap, then proceed with an opening pick under the screen frame.

Step 6 | Loosen the display adhesive

Step 6 image

Do not apply excessive heat to avoid damaging the device.

  • Apply a heated iOpener to the screen for at least 3 minutes.
  • Alternatively, use a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate, but be careful not to overheat the device.
  • The edge should feel slightly too hot to the touch when ready.

Step 7 | Insert an opening pick

Step 7 image

Thumbnail 3

Apply a suction handle to the bottom edge of the screen when it is warm to the touch.

If your display is badly cracked, apply clear packing tape for better suction or use strong tape instead.

  • Lift the screen and safety frame using the suction handle to create a small gap between the screen and phone assembly.
  • Be cautious as this may be difficult depending on the phone's age; reapply heat if necessary.

Insert an opening pick into the created gap.

Step 8 | Prevent damage to your phone

Step 8 image
