Discharging the battery below 25% before disassembly reduces the risk of fire if accidentally damaged.
If your battery is swollen, take proper precautions to avoid any potential risks during the repair process.
A fully charged battery poses a risk of explosion upon damage.
Do not pry at the screen seam.
Never use the Anti-Clamp if your phone's surface is too slippery.
Make sure the suction cups remain aligned with each other. If they begin to slip out of alignment, loosen the suction cups slightly and realign the arms.
Use caution when applying heat to avoid damaging display or internal battery.
Do not crank more than a half turn at a time, and wait one minute between turns.
Continue until the Anti-Clamp creates a sufficient gap, then proceed with an opening pick under the screen frame.
Do not apply excessive heat to avoid damaging the device.
Apply a suction handle to the bottom edge of the screen when it is warm to the touch.
If your display is badly cracked, apply clear packing tape for better suction or use strong tape instead.
Insert an opening pick into the created gap.
Be cautious when separating the screen adhesive — risk of damage.
Slide the opening pick to the bottom right corner of the screen.
Do not remove the opening pick as this will allow the adhesive to reseal.
Insert a second opening pick at the bottom edge and slide it to the bottom left corner.
The plastic clip at the bottom left will block your tool - be careful when navigating around it.
Insert the third opening pick under the bottom left corner of the screen.
If adhesive becomes hard to cut, it has likely cooled down.
Insert a fourth opening pick at top left corner of screen.
Insert a fifth opening pick near the right edge and slide it along the edge to slice remaining adhesive.
Do not attempt to separate the display from the phone assembly until you have disconnected the flex cable.
Hold the right edge of the screen and lift it up towards the left side.
Avoid twisting the screen or moving it too far from the frame to prevent damage to the flex cable.
The display cable bracket may require significant force to release.
Disconnect the display flex cable by prying its connector straight up from its socket using a spudger.
Misaligned connectors may bend pins, causing permanent damage.
The Pixel's screen back is extremely fragile and prone to damage from minor scratches or dents.
Do not touch the screen during boot-up or calibration sequence to avoid touch calibration issues.
During reassembly:
Apply new adhesive after cleaning with isopropyl alcohol (>90%). Follow device-specific guides for custom-cut adhesives or pre-cut adhesive cards.
Never puncture or bend the battery as it may leak toxic substances or cause a fire.
Remove the Torx T3 screwdriver from your toolbox.
Remove the charging port bracket with a pair of tweezers.
Use a Torx T3 screwdriver to remove the six 5.1 mm-long screws securing the midframe.
Use tweezers to carefully extract the midframe.

Remove the Torx T3 screw (5.1mm long) using a Torx T3 screwdriver.
Remove the mmWave antenna bracket with a pair of tweezers.
Disconnect the mmWave antenna cable using a spudger.
Remove the mmWave antenna cable using a plastic spudger.
Reapply the opening pick to the mmWave antenna cable, carefully separating the horizontal part from the motherboard.
Use extreme care when handling mmWave components to avoid damage.
During reassembly, inspect the thermal pad and replace it if damaged:
Remove the two Torx T3 screws with a length of 5.1 mm.
Remove the spring at the top left corner of the rear camera assembly using a pair of tweezers.
Disconnect the front facing camera cable using a spudger. Pry the connector straight up from its socket.
Avoid folding the cable sharply to prevent damage.
Disconnect the telephoto camera cable using a spudger, prying the connector straight up from its socket.
Disconnect the wide and ultrawide camera cables using a spudger. Pry the connectors straight up from their sockets.
Ensure the lens surface is free from smudges and dust before reinstalling the camera module.
Remove the Torx T3 screw securing the earpiece speaker.
Be careful not to strip the screw head as it is only 3.1 mm long.
