Do not start this repair with a fully charged battery, as it may catch fire if damaged.
Do not damage the screen or the surrounding components.
For cracked screens, cover with clear packing tape.
If surface is too slippery, use tape for better grip.
Push the blue handle forward to lock the arms in place.
Apply extreme heat with care to avoid damaging the display and/or internal battery.
Apply a heated iOpener to the right edge of the screen for 2 minutes.
Apply a suction cup near the right edge's center.
This may be difficult depending on your phone's age. Apply more heat if needed, and try again.
If your display is cracked, covering it with clear packing tape can aid suction cup adhesion or use strong tape instead.
As a last resort, superglue the suction cup to the broken screen.
Apply suction and pivot the pick upwards at a steep angle.
Position a pick at the top-right edge of the bezel.
Insert the opening pick into the top-right corner, rotating it to release the clips.
Do not remove the pick; leave it in place to prevent re-locking of the clips.
Ensure the pick is inserted only up to 4 mm to avoid damaging internal components.
Insert a new opening pick into the gap.
Insert the opening pick into the top-left corner.
Do not remove it until the repair is complete, as this can cause the clips to re-lock.
Leave the opening pick in place while working on the phone's interior.
Insert a new opening pick into the gap you just created.
Do not attempt to remove the screen completely yet.
Failure to properly secure the display cable bracket can result in sparks and logic board damage.
During reassembly, insert the top side of the bracket first before pressing down the other side.
Risk of damaging tiny components around the press connector.
Do not press middle; misaligned pins can bend, causing permanent damage.
Fragile screen: avoid scratches and dents.
Check if the proximity sensor's rubber gasket is missing, as it might be stuck to the back of your old screen. Replace it if necessary.
Test your phone temporarily by connecting the screen, powering on, and verifying functionality before sealing. Power off when finished.
Only partially remove the silver tape using tweezers, peeling back just the portion connecting the midframe and the top speaker.
Peel back the tape covering the USB-C port screws using a pair of tweezers.
Remove the T3 Torx screwdriver and use it to remove the following screws:
Insert a plastic spudger between the top of the midframe and the frame, near the front camera.
Insert spudger between bottom left of midframe and .
Remove the midframe.
You may feel some resistance due to thermal paste bonding, but this is normal.
Remove the tape holding the midframe to the loudspeaker.
Insert an opening pick between the midframe and the vibrator.
