Thumbnail 3

Use the Anti-Clamp to simplify the opening process.

  • If not using the Anti-Clamp, skip to step six for an alternate method.
  • Cover a cracked screen with clear packing tape for better suction cup adhesion.

Ensure the phone is stable and secure before proceeding.

  • Pull the blue handle backwards to release the Anti-Clamp's arms.
  • Slide the arms over the right edge of your phone.
  • Position the suction cups near the middle of the right edge, one on the front and one on the back.
  • Squeeze the cups together to apply suction force.

If necessary, use tape to create a grippier surface for improved adhesion.

Step 4

Thumbnail 3

Grasp the blue handle and pull it forward to lock the arms.

  • Turn the handle clockwise for 360 degrees or until the suction cups start to stretch.
  • Keep the suction cups aligned with each other; if they begin to slip, loosen them slightly and realign the arms.

Step 5

Step 5 image

Thumbnail 2

Proceed with caution when using heat to avoid damage to the display or internal battery.

  • Heat an iOpener and thread it through the arms of the Anti-Clamp onto the right edge of the phone.
  • Wait one minute for the adhesive to release and create a gap.
  • Insert an opening pick under the screen frame when the Anti-Clamp creates a sufficient gap.
  • If necessary, apply more heat and rotate the Anti-Clamp handle clockwise by half a turn at a time, waiting one minute between turns.

Step 6 | Heat the right edge

Step 6 image

Risk of heat damage to the display and internal battery.

  • Apply a heated iOpener to the right edge of the screen for 2 minutes.
  • Alternatively, use a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate, but be cautious not to overheat the phone.

Step 7 | Insert an opening pick

Step 7 image

Thumbnail 2
Thumbnail 3

Apply a suction cup as close to the center of the right edge of the screen as possible.

  • Pull up on the suction cup with strong, steady force to create a gap between the bezel and the frame.
  • Insert an opening pick into the gap.

Difficulty may vary depending on phone age; apply more heat if needed for better adhesion.

  • If display is badly cracked, cover with clear packing tape or use strong tape for improved suction.
  • As a last resort, superglue the suction cup to the broken screen.

Step 8 | Reposition the opening pick

Step 8 image
Thumbnail 1
Thumbnail 2
Thumbnail 3

Pivot the pick upwards to a steep angle while still applying suction.

  • Pry and carefully push the pick into the bezel seam to reposition it.
  • Limit insertion depth to 3.5 mm to avoid damaging internal components.

Step 9 | Release the right clips

Step 9 image

Thumbnail 3

Insert a new opening pick into the existing gap.

  • Slide the pick along the top edge to release the clips.
  • Avoid damage by inserting the pick no more than 3 mm when slicing around the front camera lens.

Step 12 | Release the top left clips

Step 12 image
Thumbnail 1
Thumbnail 2
Thumbnail 3

Insert an opening pick into the top-left corner.

Continue rotating the pick until all release points are disengaged.

  • Position the pick to prevent clips from re-locking.
  • Leave the pick in place and proceed with repair.

Step 13 | Release the left clips

Step 13 image
Thumbnail 1
Thumbnail 2
Thumbnail 3

Insert a new opening pick into the gap, being careful not to touch any internal components.

  • Slide the pick along the left edge to disengage the clips.
  • Limit insertion depth to 3 mm to avoid damaging the device's internals.
  • Repeat this process for the remaining edges until the screen is separated from the frame.
  • If resistance remains, use a pick to release any stubborn clips and proceed with caution.

Step 14 | Reposition the screen

Step 14 image
Thumbnail 1
Thumbnail 2
Thumbnail 3

Do not remove the screen entirely at this point — it is still connected by a flex cable.

  • Lift the right edge of the screen up towards the left side, similar to opening a book.
  • Rest the screen upside down and parallel to the frame before proceeding further.

Avoid twisting or moving the screen too far away from the frame to prevent flex cable damage.

Step 15 | Remove the display cable bracket

Step 15 image

Thumbnail 2
Thumbnail 3

Failure to insert the display cable bracket correctly can cause sparks and logic board damage.

  • Use tweezers to bend up the bottom side of the display cable bracket, releasing the metal clip.
  • Remove the display cable bracket.
  • During reassembly, insert the top side of the bracket first and then press down the other side carefully.

Step 16 | Disconnect the display cable

Step 16 image
