Google Pixel 6 Camera Glass Panel Replacement
Exercise extreme caution when handling glass parts to avoid injury.
- The glass panel covering the camera lenses on the Google Pixel can cause blurry pictures or a cracked screen. Replace it for improved image quality and to prevent scratched or cracked glass.
- The replacement process is straightforward, making it accessible to average consumers with minimal experience.
Step 1 | Camera Glass Panel
- Clean the rear camera glass panel using the provided wet wipe.
- Dry the rear camera glass panel thoroughly with a dry wipe.
Step 2
Risk of injury from sharp utensil and flying glass shards.
Carefully cut along the edges of the rear glass panel using an X-Acto knife.
Step 3
Shards and shrapnel may splinter off when removing cracks, posing a risk of injury.
Have tweezers ready to carefully chip and remove the cracked area.
Keep masking tape nearby to safely pick up any shrapnel that may break off.
Step 4
Be careful not to injure yourself when handling broken glass fragments.
- Use a metal spudger to carefully remove larger glass shards and expose the underlying layer.
- Remove sharp glass fragments slowly and methodically to avoid injury.
Step 5
Remove excess glue with the opening tool.
Only perform this step after removing all glass from the camera area.
Step 6
Apply a 3-inch wide strip of masking tape, sticky side down, to the rear camera lens.
Gently lift the tape, removing as much glass debris as possible.
- Repeat this process until most of the glass debris is removed.
Step 7
Position the new glass panel over the exposed camera area.
- Press the glass panel firmly into place.
- Avoid applying excessive force to prevent glass damage.
Never press too hard, as this may crack the new glass.
Let the adhesive dry for approximately two hours before using your phone.
