A charged battery can catch fire if damaged.

  • Allow the battery to drain below 25% before proceeding.
  • Fully power off your phone and remove all connected cables.

Step 2 | Anti-Clamp instructions

Using a cracked screen may compromise the integrity of the repair.

Check the guide on using the Anti-Clamp for detailed instructions.

  • Cover a cracked screen with clear packing tape to aid suction cup adhesion.
  • Pull the blue handle backwards to unlock the Anti-Clamp's arms.
  • Slide the arms over the left or right edge of your phone.
  • Position one suction cup on the front and one on the back, near the bottom edge.
  • Squeeze the cups together to apply suction.
  • If necessary, use tape to create a grippier surface for better adhesion.

Step 3

Lock the arms by pulling the blue handle forward.

  • Turn the handle clockwise for 360 degrees or until the suction cups start to stretch.
  • Maintain proper alignment of the suction cups; if they begin to slip, loosen them slightly and realign the arms.

Step 4

Step 4 image

Heat an iOpener and insert it through the Anti-Clamp's arms.

  • Be cautious with heat, as excessive temperatures can damage the display or internal battery.

  • Fold the heated iOpener to lie along the bottom edge of the phone.
  • Wait one minute for adhesive release and an opening gap.
  • Insert an opening pick under the screen frame when a large enough gap is created.
    • If no sufficient gap forms, apply more heat and rotate the Anti-Clamp's handle clockwise half a turn.

    • Avoid over-cranking (no more than half a turn at a time) and wait one minute between turns.

Step 5 | Loosen the display adhesive

Step 5 image

Apply an iOpener to the screen and let it heat for at least 3 minutes.

Alternatively, use a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate, but avoid overheating the device.

Step 6 | Insert an opening pick

Step 6 image

Warm the screen to a comfortable temperature before proceeding.

  • Apply a suction handle to the screen's bottom edge, or use clear packing tape for cracked screens.
  • Lift the screen and safety frame with the suction handle, creating a small gap between the screen and phone assembly.

Be careful when inserting an opening pick into the gap to avoid damaging the screen's safety frame.

  • Insert the opening pick in the correct position, ensuring it separates the screen from the phone assembly.
  • Slide the opening pick to the bottom left corner of the screen to slice the adhesive.
  • Leave the opening pick in place to prevent resealing of the adhesive.

Step 7 | Slice the adhesive

Step 7 image

Thumbnail 2

Slide a second opening pick along the bottom edge, working towards the bottom right corner.

Make sure the first pick remains in place to avoid the adhesive re-sealing.

Step 8

Step 8 image

Thumbnail 3

When using an opening pick, only insert the tip (~3-4 mm) under the screen to slice display adhesive.

  • Insert a third opening pick underneath the bottom left corner of the screen.
  • Slide the opening pick along the left edge of the screen to separate the adhesive.
  • Leave the opening pick in the top left corner to prevent resealing.

Step 9

Step 9 image

Thumbnail 2

Reheat the adhesive with an iOpener or heat gun for 1-2 minutes if it becomes hard to cut.

  • When slicing near the front facing camera, insert only the tip of the opening pick (~2-3 mm) to avoid damage or smearing.
  • Insert a fourth opening pick at the top left corner of the screen.
  • Slide the opening pick along the top edge of the phone to slice the adhesive.
  • Leave the opening pick in the top right corner to prevent resealing.

Step 10

Step 10 image

Insert a fifth opening pick along the right edge of the phone.

  • Slide it towards the bottom of the phone to slice the remaining adhesive.
  • Do not remove the display yet, as the screen is still connected.

Step 17 | Loosen the graphite film adhesive

Step 17 image

Do not apply direct heat to the battery, as it may suffer heat damage or trigger a thermal event.

  • Apply a heated iOpener or heat gun to the rear glass for at least two minutes to loosen adhesive underneath graphite films on top of the battery.

Step 18 | Remove the graphite film

Step 18 image
