  • If using the Anti-Clamp, proceed with the next steps. Otherwise, skip down three steps.
  • If your screen is cracked, cover it with clear packing tape to aid suction cup adhesion.

  • Pull the blue handle of the Anti-Clamp backwards to unlock its arms.
  • Slide the arms over either the left or right phone edge.
  • Position one suction cup near the bottom front edge and another on the back, then
    • Squeeze the cups together to apply suction.
    • If necessary, use tape to create a grippier surface for better adhesion.

Step 3

Lock the arms by pulling the blue handle forward.

  • Turn the handle clockwise for 360 degrees or until the suction cups start to stretch.
  • Maintain proper alignment of the suction cups at all times. If they begin to slip out of alignment, loosen and realign the arms as needed.

Step 4

Extreme heat can damage the display and/or internal battery.

  • iOpener or heat gun: apply direct heat to the Anti-Clamp, rotating clockwise 1/2 turn at a time, waiting 1 minute between turns.
  • Fold iOpener and place it along the phone's bottom edge for 1 minute, allowing adhesive release.
  • Opening pick: insert under screen frame once sufficient gap is created by Anti-Clamp or applied heat.

Step 5 | Loosen the display adhesive

Step 5 image

Be cautious not to overheat the device.

  • Apply a heated iOpener to the screen for at least 3 minutes to loosen adhesive underneath.
  • Alternative methods: use a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate, but exercise care.

Step 6 | Insert an opening pick

Step 6 image

Thumbnail 3

Allow the screen to warm up to a comfortable temperature before proceeding.

  • Suction handle installation:
    • Apply suction handle to bottom edge of screen using clear packing tape as an adhesive, if necessary.
    • Alternatively, use strong tape or superglue for added adhesion.
  • Lift screen and safety frame with suction handle, creating a small gap between the screen and phone assembly.

Ensure the opening pick is positioned correctly to avoid separating the screen from its safety frame.

  • Insert opening pick into the gap between the screen frame and phone assembly.
  • Slide the opening pick to the bottom left corner of the screen, slicing the adhesive.
  • Leave the opening pick in place to prevent resealing of the adhesive.

Step 7 | Slice the adhesive

Step 7 image

Identify and remove small plastic pins holding the screen in place, along with adhesive.

  • Only insert the tip of the opening pick (~3-4 mm) when slicing display adhesive to avoid getting blocked.

  • Insert a third opening pick underneath the bottom left corner of the screen.
  • Slide the opening pick along the left edge of the screen to slice the adhesive.
  • Leave the opening pick in the top left corner to prevent resealing of adhesive.

Step 9
