This guide was written using a Pixel 5; some visual differences may occur, but the adhesive installation procedure is the same.
Peel off as much adhesive as possible with a pair of tweezers.
Do not use metal tools when scraping away screen adhesive — risk of damaging the screen.
Use the front camera and corners of the frame for correct alignment.
Remove the clear plastic liner.
Exposure to adhesive residue may cause skin irritation.
Careful not to misalign the adhesive, as this will result in a poor seal.
Press the flat end of a spudger or your fingernail onto the adhesive.
Grasp the blue plastic lining with your fingers, located near the center.
Be gentle to avoid damaging the surrounding components.
Reassemble the device by following the screen replacement guide in reverse order.
Ensure you reinstall the screen connector bracket for proper function.
After replacing the screen, inspect the front-facing camera hole and remove any protective liners covering it.
Remove the blue plastic liner to access the perimeter adhesive.
Position the screen against the frame, allowing it to rest in place.
Press down the screen corners onto the .
Press down on the edges of the screen.
