  • Insert a SIM eject tool, bit, or a straightened paper clip into the small hole on the left edge of the phone.
  • Press firmly to prevent damage — risk of tray breakage.

  • Remove the ejected SIM card tray.

Step 2 | Heat the back panel glass

Step 2 image

Prepare a iOpener and apply it to the bottom edge of the back panel for one minute.

  • Alternatively, use a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate.
  • Be careful not to overheat the phone, as the display and internal battery are susceptible to heat damage.

Step 3 | Apply a suction cup

Apply a suction cup to the heated edge of the back panel by pressing down on it to create suction.

If the glass is badly cracked, cover it with clear packing tape for better adhesion.

  • Use very strong tape as an alternative to a suction cup.
  • As a last resort, superglue the suction cup directly to the broken panel.

Step 4 | Insert an opening pick

Step 4 image

Apply firm pressure with the suction cup to separate the back panel from the frame.

Difficulty may vary depending on your phone's age; if needed, apply more heat to aid separation.

  • Insert an opening pick into the created gap.

Step 5 | Begin to slice the adhesive

  • Leave the pick inserted in the bottom right corner to prevent the adhesive from re-sealing.

  • To re-attach a press connector:
    • Carefully align and press down on one side until it clicks into place.
