Insert a SIM eject tool, bit, or straightened paper clip into the SIM card tray hole.
Apply heat to the iOpener and use it on the phone's bottom for 1 minute.
Apply a suction cup to the heated bottom edge of the back cover. Ensure it's not mistaken for the screen side.
Avoid using metal tools to pry, which can mar or shatter the glass back cover.
Avoid inserting the pick too far, which can damage the fingerprint sensor cable.
Insert a pick along the bottom edge to hold open the adhesive.
Apply heat to the right edge using an iOpener.
Continue heating and slicing until the entire phone perimeter is severed.
Carefully lift the left edge of the back cover.
Do not attempt to remove the back cover yet, as it is still attached by the fingerprint sensor cable.
Remove the two Phillips screws, 4.1 mm in length, securing the fingerprint connector bracket.
Slide the fingerprint connector bracket out from under the NFC coil using the point of a spudger.
Remove the fingerprint connector bracket.
Careful not to dislodge surrounding surface-mounted components when disconnecting connectors.
Remove the back cover.
Compare the replacement part with the original carefully — incorrect installation may cause damage or malfunction.
Remove the wireless charging coil by lifting it up.
Insert the point of a spudger between the battery press connector and its socket, and gently pry it away.
Remove two screws:
Use a standoff bit for best results; otherwise, use a small flathead screwdriver with extra caution to avoid damaging surrounding components.
If performing motherboard removal, remove both cameras.
Use the point of a spudger to carefully pry up and release the camera connector.
Caution: The cameras are secured with adhesive, be careful not to damage the frame or the module.
Use blunt nose tweezers to remove the camera(s).
Ensure the phone frame lens are free of adhesive residue or debris for proper installation.
Do not puncture the battery — risk of explosion.
Pry up and disconnect the loudspeaker connector from its motherboard socket near the right edge using a spudger.
Remove the four Phillips screws:
Be careful not to lose the tiny grounding clip from the left screw hole.
The grounding clip installs with its contoured edge facing the left side of the phone.
Reinstall this insert before you screw down the daughterboard.
Inspect and locate any remaining adhesive gasket holding the speaker in place.
Avoid damaging the battery when prying the loudspeaker.
Position the flat-end spudger at the top-left edge of the loudspeaker.
Remove the loudspeaker.
Locate the blue antenna cable connected to the charging assembly.
Be careful not to damage the cable or its connector.
The antenna cable is fragile and may break easily.
Position the spudger tip near the black antenna cable's socket and gently pry it open to release the connection.
Be cautious of electrical shock — move cables away from the charging assembly.
Use a spudger to carefully pry up the charging assembly's connector at the right edge.
Avoid damaging the sensitive flex cable and motherboard connections.
Never touch the flex cable with metal tools — risk of damage.
Puncturing the battery can cause a short circuit, damaging the device.
Be careful not to damage press-fit connectors or their motherboard sockets.
Locate the flex cable connected to the earpiece speaker.
Ensure not to lose the tiny grounding clips attached to some screws.
When removing the standoff screw, use a standoff bit if possible or be extremely cautious with a small flathead screwdriver.
Remove the antenna bracket from the top left edge of the phone.
Locate the top left corner of the motherboard near the rear-facing camera and insert the point of a spudger.
If the motherboard feels firmly seated, check for any remaining flex cables or screws that may still be connected.
Insert the spudger under the motherboard's top edge and gently pry it up.
Take care when navigating the earpiece speaker's flex cable, as it may press tightly against the motherboard.
Guide the motherboard around the flex cable with patience and caution.
Lift the left edge of the motherboard and swing it upwards towards the right.
Remove the motherboard by lifting its top end away from the frame.
Remove the two Phillips screws, each measuring 1.9 mm, that secure the charging assembly to the phone's bottom edge.
Apply a heated iOpener to the bottom edge of the phone for 1 minute.
Be careful not to apply excessive heat, which may damage components.
Insert opening pick under flex cable.
Remove the charging assembly with either a pair of tweezers or your fingers.
Remove all plastic liners from the replacement assembly.
Remove the SIM card reader by unscrewing the two 1.9 mm Phillips screws.
Remove the SIM card tray before disassembling.
The SIM card reader is lightly adhered to the frame; take care when separating.
Insert opening pick between frame and lower microphone module.
Use a pick to gently rotate around the perimeter of the SIM card reader.
Avoid applying too much pressure, which may damage the component.
Separate the SIM card reader from its mounting using tweezers or your fingers.
Apply heat to the top edge of the device using an iOpener for 2 minutes.
Insert the flat end of a spudger between the earpiece speaker and the frame.
Apply heat with an iOpener to the top left corner of the device for 2 minutes.
Heat may damage certain components if applied too aggressively or for excessive time.
Insert the halberd spudger between the microphone assembly and the frame's perimeter.
Remove the microphone assembly with tweezers or your fingers.
Locate the black battery pull tab on the left edge of the phone.
Hold the black pull tab at an angle and pull steadily until adhesive forms.
Wait at least one minute for the adhesive to loosen before proceeding.
Be cautious when handling the battery — risk of electric shock.
Insert a opening pick between the frame and the long edge of the vibrator.
Remove the vibrator using tweezers, or your fingers.
Remove the remaining components to expose the screen.
