Apply iOpener to the phone's bottom for 1 min.
Apply a suction cup to the heated bottom edge of the back cover.
Ensure you have applied the suction cup to the back cover side and not the screen side.
Do not use metal tools or you will risk damaging the glass back cover.
Do not insert the pick too deeply — risk of damaging the fingerprint sensor cable.
Use a tool to slice the adhesive along the bottom edge of the phone and around the right corner.
Be cautious of the potentially gummy adhesive.
Continue heating and slicing around the entire phone perimeter.
When slicing above the power button, do not insert the pick more than halfway or you may damage the fingerprint sensor cable.
Carefully lift the left edge of the back cover.
Remove the Phillips screws securing the fingerprint connector bracket using a screwdriver.
Avoid over-tightening these screws, as it may damage your display.
Slide the fingerprint connector bracket out from under the NFC coil using the pointed end of a spudger.
Use a spudger to pry up and disconnect the fingerprint connector from its socket.
Be careful not to dislodge surrounding components when disconnecting connectors like these.
Misaligned connectors can bend pins, causing permanent damage.
Remove the back cover.
Clean phone frame thoroughly before installing new or reused back cover.
Follow instructions to correctly apply new back cover adhesive.
Locate and remove the wireless charging coil's securing screws.
Remove the wireless charging coil by lifting it upwards.
Locate the battery press connector near the right edge of the phone.
Be extremely cautious when using the spudger near the battery to avoid puncture.
Note: The tape can be torn without affecting its function as a heat shield for the motherboard and battery.
Locate the buttons connector on the motherboard near the left edge.
Be careful not to damage the flex cable or motherboard.
Locate the battery pull tab on the left edge of the phone.
The adhesive strips can be tricky to remove — consider cutting the black tab and pulling each strip out individually for easier access.
Hold the pull tab at a shallow angle and pull steadily.
Avoid prying near the flex cable under the battery to prevent damage.
You can also apply a few drops of high concentration isopropyl alcohol along the left edge of the battery using a plastic dropper or syringe, giving it one minute to loosen the adhesive before proceeding.
Remove the battery.
Carefully pull and remove the small foam buffer block from the left edge of the battery; if it tears, use a spudger to gently pry it off.
