Remove the SIM tray by inserting your fingernail or a paper clip into the small hole and gently prying it out.
Apply a heated iOpener or alternative heat source to the right edge of the back cover for 1 minute.
Be cautious of overheating the phone, which can cause damage to the display and internal battery.
Apply a suction cup to the heated edge of the back cover, as close to the edge as possible.
If you encounter difficulty, apply heat to the edge and try again.
Slide a pick tool along the right edge of the device to slice through the adhesive.
Heat an iOpener and apply it to the bottom edge of the back cover for 1 minute.
Insert an opening pick at the bottom right corner and carefully pry along the phone's bottom edge.
Continue heating and slicing along the edges.
Apply gentle pressure with your fingers or a plastic spudger to pry the right edge of the back cover.
Swing the right edge of the back cover upwards and rest the flipped panel along the left side of the phone.
Maintain slack on the fingerprint sensor cable to avoid pinching it.
If you replaced the fingerprint sensor, follow these steps to make the phone recognize the new sensor using a specialized software tool.
Use tweezers to gently lift the yellow tape covering the fingerprint sensor connector.
Use a spudger to flip up the black lock bar on the fingerprint sensor's ZIF socket.
Do not touch the metal contacts on the flex cable with your tweezers to prevent shorting.
Remove the back cover.
Remove three T3 screws that are 4 mm long.
Remove one T3 screw that is 3 mm long.
Keep track of each screw to ensure they are replaced exactly where they were removed from.
Insert the flat end of a spudger under the top right edge of the metal bracket and gently pry up.
Never use a metal tool to disconnect the battery connector, as this risks causing a short circuit.
Remove the five T3 screws holding the motherboard shield in place.
Disconnect and remove the motherboard shield.
Remove the T3 screws securing the front camera bracket, located on each corner of the camera housing.
Remove the front camera bracket.
Careful prying is necessary to avoid damaging nearby components.
Locate the camera modules.
Remove both front-facing cameras
Remove the T3 screw in the top-right corner of the loudspeaker.
Remove the T3 screws with 3mm length from the button array connector bracket.
Disconnect the button array connector bracket.
Prying may damage the earpiece socket or motherboard.
Insert the pointed tip of a spudger under each connector.
Disconnect the charging coil connector using a spudger.
Remove the T3 screws, two in total, located on the motherboard.
Insert the spudger point under the motherboard near the rear-facing camera.
Be cautious not to apply too much pressure on the earpiece cable, as it may cause the speaker to pop open.
Do not remove the motherboard from the phone as it is still attached.
Be cautious when handling the fragile antenna cables, as they can be damaged easily.
Disconnect and remove the motherboard.
Damage to the camera or socket can occur if not disconnected carefully.
Compare the new part to the original, transferring any remaining components or removing adhesive backings as necessary before installing.
Check if the motherboard is already removed; if so, skip this step.
Insert the point of a precision pick under the bottom right corner of the loudspeaker.
Slide the pick in to loosen the right side of the loudspeaker.
Insert the point of an opening pick under the top edge of the loudspeaker, just below the battery.
Remove the loudspeaker by lifting it out slowly and pulling it away from any remaining adhesive.
Remove the white coaxial cable by prying it loose with the flat end of a spudger.
Disconnect the white coaxial cable from the phone.
Use the flat end of a spudger to carefully pry up and detach the black coaxial cable from its clip.
Use the flat end of a spudger to gently pry up and disconnect the black coaxial cable connector from the charging assembly.
Disconnect the black coaxial cable from the phone.
Remove the three 2.4mm screws secured with a T3 Torx screwdriver.
Remove the 3.9 mm screw using a T3 Torx screwdriver.
Remove the SIM card tray if not already done.
Locate the peg holding the left side of the charging assembly to the frame.
Locate the red gasket securing the USB-C port to the frame.
Be aware that improper reassembly can cause damage or electrical issues.
Insert the opening pick under one edge of the charging coil.
Hold the phone at an angle with the damaged edge facing upwards.
Insert the flat end of an opening pick under a corner of the charging coil.
Remove the wireless charging coil.
Be very careful not to puncture the battery.
Be cautious of sharp edges near the top of the battery, which can damage the adhesive strip.
Hold the yellow adhesive pull tab firmly and slowly, aiming for a shallow angle.
Loosening both strips at once may occur when using adhesive remover or isopropyl alcohol.
Remove the battery.
Do not reuse the battery — potential safety hazard.
Replace with a new battery.
Insert an opening pick between the frame and the long edge of the vibrator.
Remove the vibrator using tweezers or your fingers.
Apply heat to the top edge using an iOpener for 2 minutes.
Insert the spudger tip into the gap between the frame and the earpiece speaker's long edge.
Disconnect the earpiece speaker from its mounting.
Apply heat to the top-left corner using an iOpener for 2 minutes.
Remove the rubber bracket with tweezers, separating it from the microphone assembly's recess in the frame.
Insert a halberd spudger between the microphone assembly and the frame's perimeter.
Remove the microphone assembly using either tweezers or your fingers.
The screen assembly remains.
