Before starting, wrap cracked display glass with tape for safe handling and a smooth surface.
Do not apply excessive force to avoid damaging the OLED panel.
Using excessive force can cause harm, so consider using an iOpener, heat gun, or hair dryer to weaken the adhesive.
Careful not to insert tools too far: risk of damaging phone's display.
Use the flat part of the opening pick instead of a corner to avoid going in too far.
Damage or loss of the mesh covering may require additional repair costs.
Insert a pick into the upper-left corner and slide it along the left edge.
Insert the opening pick into the lower-left corner of the phone and slide it along the bottom edge, keeping a slight angle away from the screen.
Reinsert the pick at the top edge and gently pry up the display.
Do not fully separate the display yet — a fragile ribbon cable still connects it.
Place the display on top of the rear case, ensuring no creases or tears to the ribbon cable.
Locate and remove the display cable bracket.
Avoid touching the motherboard with the spudger tip to prevent damage.
Re-seat this connector if any part of your screen doesn't respond to touch after repair, ensuring it clicks fully into place and there's no dust or obstruction.
During reassembly, replace the display adhesive around the edges before proceeding further.
Carefully remove speaker grilles and front-facing camera bracket from old display if they are not pre-installed on new replacement.
Make sure grilles and gasket are installed before applying display adhesive.
Ensure the camera bracket is seated correctly by placing it into its slot surrounding the front-facing camera.
Improper seating can lead to damage or poor performance of the camera system.
Press down gently on one side of the display cable connector using your finger or a flat edge.
Do not press in the middle — risk of pin bending and damage.
Make sure there is no adhesive on the new screen before proceeding.
During boot-up, do not touch the screen during calibration or you may experience touch issues.
Prepare a 3 cm (1.25 in) long double-sided tape with a width of 1 mm.
Gently press the tape into place using your finger or a spudger.
Set the speaker grille into its slot with the curved side facing inward.
Verify that the grille is centered before applying pressure.
Push the grille down onto the adhesive to secure it in place.
Use a spudger or your finger to press down speaker grille edges.
Do not touch the screen during boot-up calibration.
