  • Ensure you've previously detached the Pixel 2's display.
  • Follow this guide to apply replacement adhesive to your Pixel 2's display.

Step 1 | Display Adhesive

Step 1 image

Remove all old adhesive from the Pixel 2 case.

  • Also remove any remaining adhesive from the back of your display if reusing it.
  • Carefully collect and discard small glass fragments during this process.

Failure to remove all glue residue may compromise the seal.

Thoroughly clean adhesion areas with high concentration isopropyl alcohol (at least 90%) for a secure display installation.

  • If your new display lacks speaker grilles or a front-facing camera bracket, install them before applying adhesive.

Careful not to damage the adhesive.

  • Locate the perforations on the inner and outer edges of the adhesive strip.
  • Tear along the perforations to separate the outer portion from the backing.

Only remove blue plastic surrounding the edge, do not touch the white or blue backing underneath.
