Google Pixel 10a Wireless Charging Assembly Replacement

This guide is not affiliated with Google. Learn more about our guides here. Replace your Google Pixel 10a's wireless charging assembly (midframe or inner housing) to resolve intermittent or non-functioning wireless charging.

  • Be aware: This repair may compromise water resistance; precise adhesive application and clean mating surfaces are crucial for retention.
  • Obtain replacement rear cover adhesives to complete the repair.

Step 1 | Prepare your Pixel for disassembly

A charged battery may cause a fire if damaged.

  • Let the battery drain below 25%.
  • Unplug all cables and power down completely.
  • If the rear cover is bulging, take precautions due to potential swelling of the internal battery.

Heating can cause damage or burns — use caution when handling high temperatures.

  • Apply a hair dryer to heat the entire rear cover until it's hot to the touch.

Step 3 | Create an opening gap

Position the suction handle about 1 inch from the right edge of the rear cover.

Hold the suction handle firmly and pull upwards with steady pressure.

Reheating the edge may be necessary if the cover does not separate easily.

  • Insert a opening pick into the gap that forms between the cover and frame.

Careful when separating adhesive — risk of damage to components.

  • Refer to picture for separation guidance.
  • When releasing left edge adhesive, limit pick insertion depth to 3 mm to avoid damaging the wireless charging coil and its graphite film.

Step 6 | Separate the rear cover

Apply even pressure with an opening pick along the entire perimeter to release the adhesive.

  • If separation is difficult, reapply heat and attempt removal again.

Insert opening pick near top-left corner, prying to separate adhesive around camera bezel.

Remove the rear cover by slowly peeling it upwards.

Step 9 | Remove the wireless charging assembly screws

Use a Torx Plus 3IP screwdriver to remove the 15 screws securing the wireless charging assembly.

  • Remove 13 gray screws, 2 silver non-magnetic screws (total of 15). Screws are 5.0 mm long.
  • Label each screw and note its original position to ensure correct reassembly and avoid damaging your phone.

Step 10 | Unclip the wireless charging assembly

Insert an opening pick into a cutout.

  • Pry up the wireless charging assembly at the bottom-right corner.
  • Release the wireless charging assembly from the second cutout near the power button.

Step 11 | Remove the wireless charging assembly

Remove the wireless charging assembly.

Reassembly has begun, continue with the following steps.

Position the wireless charging assembly on the .

  • (Gently) press around the perimeter with your fingers to secure its clips.
  • If the assembly resists clipping in, stop and inspect for any obstructions underneath it.

  • Install the fifteen wireless charging assembly screws using a Torx Plus 3IP screwdriver.
  • The screws come in two types: thirteen gray, and two silver non-magnetic.
  • Ensure the screwdriver is properly seated to avoid cross-threading.

  • All screws are 5.0 mm in length.

Step 15 | Test your repair

Test your repair: power on phone, check functions, and run diagnostics.

  • Verify screen and fingerprint sensor functionality.
  • If issues persist, check if screen connector is secure.

Fully power off the phone before reassembly.

Step 16 | Clean the frame

Clean the frame thoroughly before proceeding.

  • Remove adhesive from the frame perimeter using your fingers, a spudger, or tweezers.
  • If a large piece forms, pull slowly and straight in the opposite direction of the adhesive to remove long sections.

Use high concentration (greater than 90%) isopropyl alcohol on a lint-free cloth or coffee filter to clean any remaining residue.

Step 17 | Replace the camera bezel adhesive

Check the adhesive blocks around the rear cameras.

  • If they are clean and smooth, you can skip ahead three steps.
  • Otherwise, use a spudger to carefully pry up each of the seven adhesive blocks.

Remove the clear liner from the camera bezel adhesive.

  • Align carefully, then lay the adhesive in place using the rear cameras for reference.

Press the camera bezel adhesive onto the frame using your fingers.

Remove the top blue liner from the adhesive by peeling it off, taking care not to damage the underlying surface.

A remaining thin liner will still be covering the adhesive.

Step 20 | Replace the rear cover interior adhesive

Inspect the interior adhesive blocks for cleanliness and integrity.

  • If they appear clean and unwrinkled, you can proceed to skip two steps.
  • Otherwise, use a spudger to scrape and remove them from the rear cover.

Peel off the clear liner from the interior adhesive sheet.

  • Rear cover is applied by aligning and pressing the adhesive in place.
  • The camera cutout can be used for alignment assistance.
  • Remove the large liner slowly and carefully.

Step 22 | Install the rear cover adhesive

Position the rear cover adhesive over the phone's frame without removing its liners.

Align the adhesive using the camera cutout for accurate orientation.

Expose the adhesive by peeling down the top half of the clear liner.

Do not remove the liner completely at this stage.

Take your time aligning the adhesive to the frame.

  • Lay the top edge of the adhesive onto the frame.
  • Press down along the top edge to secure alignment.
  • Slowly peel away the clear liner as you press the rest of the adhesive in place.

Press the adhesive around the entire with a spudger.

Remove the large liner covering the rear cover adhesive.

Remove all remaining liners from the replacement camera bezel to ensure proper adhesion.

Remove the perimeter adhesive liner.

  • Inspect the frame for remaining liners.
  • Remove all liners found.

Step 29 | Inspect the rear camera glass

Inspect and clean the rear cover camera cutouts using a lint-free cloth, if necessary.

  • Rear camera lens caps or liners: Remove these protective covers from the lenses.
  • Gently wipe any visible debris from the rear cameras' lenses with a lint-free cloth, as needed.

Step 30 | Install the rear cover

Place the rear cover over the frame.

  • Firmly press along the perimeter to ensure proper adhesion.
  • To enhance bonding, squeeze firmly around the edges or apply pressure with your hands.

Leaving it overnight under a few books will provide an even stronger bond, provided the surface is clean and flat.
