Replacing the front camera may compromise your phone's water resistance.

  • The front-facing selfie camera in your Google Pixel 10a needs to be replaced if its image is fuzzy or blurry, or if it has stopped working.
  • You will need a new front camera foil and rear cover adhesives for this repair.

Step 1 | Prepare your Pixel for disassembly

Step 1 image

Thumbnail 2

Avoid starting the repair with a fully charged Pixel; let the battery drain below 25% to prevent potential fire hazards.

  • Disconnect all cables and shut down the device completely.

If the rear cover is bulging, assume the battery may be swollen and exercise caution.

Step 2 | Heat the rear cover

Step 2 image

Careful: Rear cover secured with mild adhesive.

  • Use a hair dryer to heat rear cover until it's hot to the touch.
  • For more information on softening adhesive, refer to this guide: Guide: Softening Adhesive.
  • Alternative method: Use an iOpener to heat edge of rear cover instead (see this guide).

Step 3 | Create an opening gap

Step 3 image
