  • The earpiece speaker (top speaker) may be damaged if phone call sound is crackly, distorted, or silent.
  • You'll need: replacement rear cover, earpiece speaker adhesives (or double-sided tape for alternative bonding).
  • Note that any repair may compromise phone water resistance. Water resistance after the repair is dependent on accurate adhesive application and clean mating surfaces.

Step 1 | Prepare your Pixel for disassembly

Step 1 image

Thumbnail 2

Allow the battery to drain below 25% before starting this repair to avoid potential explosion risk due to lithium-ion battery damage.

  • Unplug all cables from the device.
  • Completely power down your Pixel for safety.
  • If the rear cover is bulging, take precautions against a potentially swollen battery.

Step 2 | Eject the SIM card tray
