Google Pixel 10 Screen Replacement

Note that any repair may compromise your phone's water resistance.

  • This guide was created by iFixit staff, not Google.
  • Replace a cracked or broken screen on your Google Pixel 10 with this guide.
  • If no adhesive is included, purchase replacement screen adhesive separately.

Step 1 | Prepare your Pixel for disassembly

Step 1 image

Thumbnail 2

Lower the battery level to below 25%, as a charged lithium-ion battery can ignite during repair.

  • Disconnect all cables.
  • Powder down your phone completely.

Step 2 | Cracked glass preparation

Step 2 image

Thumbnail 2
Thumbnail 3

Glass shards can cause injury or complicate disassembly.

  • Apply non-overlapping strips of packing tape to the cracked screen until fully covered, containing the glass and allowing a suction cup to stick.
  • A single strip of tape must be applied across the top edge, sufficient for a suction cup to fit, without adhering to the frame.

Wear safety glasses to protect your eyes from potential debris during the repair.

Step 3 | Heat the screen

Step 3 image

Thumbnail 3

Improper heating can damage the display and battery — follow linked instructions.

  • Apply heat to the entire screen until almost too hot to touch using a hair dryer, heat gun, or heat pad.
  • For a heat pad, set it to 60° C (140° F) and apply to the phone screen side down for 10 minutes.

The adhesive is softened when heated, making it easier to separate the screen from the frame.

Step 4 | Apply a suction handle

Step 4 image
Thumbnail 1
Thumbnail 2

Apply a suction handle to the center of the screen's top edge, as close to the edge as possible.

Step 5 | Insert an opening pick

Step 5 image
Thumbnail 1
Thumbnail 2
Thumbnail 3

Insert an opening pick slowly and carefully.

  • Reheat the screen if it feels stuck, then try again.
  • Pull up on the suction handle with strong, steady force to create a gap between the screen and frame.
  • Insert the tip of the opening pick completely under the screen.

Only insert the pick slightly (a few millimeters) to avoid damaging the front camera.

Step 6 | Separate the screen adhesive

Step 6 image
Thumbnail 1
Thumbnail 2
Thumbnail 3

Insert an opening pick at one end of the top edge and slide it along the entire length to break the adhesive bond.

Step 7

Step 7 image

Thumbnail 2
Thumbnail 3

Continue sliding the pick around the perimeter of the screen until all adhesive has been separated.

  • Leave picks inserted at the corners to prevent the adhesive from re-sealing.
  • If the screen feels stuck, reheat it as needed.

Do not attempt to fully remove the screen yet, as it is still connected by a ribbon cable.

Step 8 | Prop up the screen

Step 8 image
Thumbnail 1
Thumbnail 2
Thumbnail 3

Flip the top edge of the screen over the bottom edge.

  • Use a suction handle or a sturdy object to prop it up.
  • This will give you access to the screen cable connector.

If the screen still feels stuck, use an opening pick and carefully remove any remaining adhesive from around the perimeter.

Step 9 | Remove the screen cable bracket

Removing old screen adhesive can be time-consuming and requires care.

  • Use the point of a spudger to roll and scrape away all old adhesive from the frame.
  • Aim to form a ball of adhesive, making removal easier.

Step 15

Step 15 image

Wrap a microfiber or lint-free cloth around a spudger.

  • Apply one drop of high-concentration (>90%) isopropyl alcohol to the end.
  • Use the spudger to clean up all remaining adhesive residue from the frame, adding more drops as needed.
  • Let the alcohol dry completely before proceeding.

Step 16 | Orient the adhesive

Step 16 image

Thumbnail 3

Check if replacement screen has pre-installed adhesive around perimeter.

  • If yes, skip down nine steps.
  • If not, proceed with installing new screen adhesive on frame.

Incorrect application of adhesive requires restarting with new adhesive.

Hold adhesive above frame to determine its orientation.

  • Use cutouts in liner and contours of adhesive for visualization.
  • Confirm correct positioning before applying adhesive.

Step 17 | Tape the screen cable down

Step 17 image
