Google Pixel 10 Battery Replacement

Note that replacing a battery may compromise the water resistance of your phone.

  • Your Google Pixel 10's battery has a limited lifespan, so it's normal for it to degrade over time.
  • If your phone won't hold a charge or shuts down unexpectedly, consider replacing the battery.
  • When handling swollen batteries, exercise caution to avoid injury or damage.

Step 1 | Prepare your Pixel for disassembly

Step 1 image

A charged lithium-ion battery can catch fire if damaged.

  • Unplug all cables from the phone.
  • Allow the Pixel's battery to completely drain and die before proceeding.

Step 2 | Cracked glass preparation

Step 2 image

Thumbnail 3

Cracked back glass can cause injury or complicate disassembly.

  • Apply non-overlapping strips of packing tape to cover the cracked glass completely, without sticking to the frame.
  • Evaluate your workspace: consider wearing safety glasses and ensure a single strip of tape is positioned across the bottom edge for suction cup attachment.

Step 3 | Heat the bottom edge

Step 3 image

Use caution when applying heat to avoid damage.

  • Apply heat to the bottom edge of the back glass using an iOpener for two minutes.
  • Alternatively, use a hair dryer or heat gun to heat the back glass.

Improper heat gun use can damage display and/or battery; follow linked instructions carefully.

Step 4 | Apply a suction handle

Step 4 image
Thumbnail 1
Thumbnail 2

Apply a suction handle to the center of the back glass's bottom edge, as close to the edge as possible.

Step 5 | Insert an opening pick

Step 5 image
Thumbnail 1

Do not attempt to separate the back glass completely — it is still secured by a ribbon cable.

  • Insert the fourth pick under the top right corner of the device.
  • Guide the pick along the top edge, curved slightly around the left corner, and stopping at the bottom of the camera bump.

Step 11 | Prop up the back glass

Step 11 image
