Ensure the battery level is below 25% to prevent potential damage or fires.

  • Allow the Pixel's battery to drain naturally.

Cracked glass can cause injury or complicate disassembly.

  • Apply strips of packing tape over the cracked glass, ensuring it's fully covered.
  • A single strip should be placed across the bottom edge, allowing for a suction cup attachment.

Only cover the glass with tape, not the frame.

Wear safety glasses to protect your eyes from potential debris during repair.

Step 3 | Heat the bottom edge

Step 3 image

Improper use of a heat gun can damage the display and/or battery.

  • Apply heat to the back glass using an iOpener on the bottom edge for two minutes.
  • Alternatively, use a hair dryer or heat gun to heat the glass.

Follow linked instructions carefully when using a heat gun.

Step 4 | Apply a suction handle
