Google Pixel 10 Pro 5G mmWave Antenna Replacement

Note that any repair may compromise your phone's water resistance, and retaining it depends on proper rear cover adhesive reapplication.

  • Use this guide to replace the 5G mmWave antenna in your Google Pixel 10 Pro.

You'll need replacement back glass and front camera adhesive for a successful repair.

If your phone has Wi-Fi but no cellular service, replacing the 5G mmWave antenna may be necessary.

Step 1 | Prepare your Pixel for disassembly

Allow the Pixel's battery to discharge below 25% prior to starting this repair, as a fully charged lithium-ion battery may ignite in case of damage.

  • Disconnect all cables from the device.
  • Power down the phone completely.

Glass shards can cause injury or complicate disassembly.

  • Apply non-overlapping strips of packing tape to the cracked back glass, covering it completely.
  • Ensure a single strip spans the bottom edge, large enough for a suction cup to fit on, without adhering to the frame.
  • Only cover the glass itself, not the surrounding frame.

Wear safety glasses to protect your eyes from potential debris during the repair.

Step 3 | Heat the bottom edge

Follow linked instructions carefully when using a heat gun to avoid damaging the display and/or battery.

  • Lay a heated iOpener on the bottom edge of the back glass for two minutes.
  • Alternatively, use a hair dryer or heat gun to heat the back glass.
  • Heat will soften the adhesive securing the back glass to the frame.

Step 4 | Apply a suction handle

Position the suction handle on the center of the back glass's lower edge, ensuring it is as close to the edge as feasible.

Grasp the suction handle firmly and apply steady pressure.

  • A gap should form between the back glass and .
  • Insert the tip of an opening pick into the formed gap.

Start by examining the back glass's adhesive attachment to the phone's frame.

  • Use this picture as a reference while carefully prying up the adhesive with a tool.

Avoid the area near the power button, where a cable is connected to the back glass.

Insert your pick in a safe location to prevent damaging the cable.

Step 7 | Separate the bottom edge adhesive

Apply heat if the back glass feels stuck.

  • Slide an opening pick along the bottom edge to separate the adhesive.
  • Leave the pick in at the bottom left corner to prevent re-sealing.

Step 8 | Separate the bottom left adhesive

Insert another pick under the lower left corner.

  • Slide the new pick up the left side until it reaches the power button.
  • Leave the pick in place to prevent re-adhesion of the adhesive.

Step 9 | Separate the right edge adhesive

Insert a pick at the bottom right corner of the back glass.

  • Slide the pick upwards along the right edge.
  • Leave the pick in place at the top right corner.

Step 10 | Separate the top edge adhesive

Insert a pick under the top right corner.

  • Slide the pick along the top edge and around the top left corner, stopping at the bottom of the camera bump.
  • Do not attempt to fully remove the back glass yet — it remains connected by a ribbon cable.

Step 11 | Prop up the back glass

Flip the back glass over the left side of the phone and secure it using a suction handle or a sturdy object.

  • Check if the back glass still feels stuck, then go back around the perimeter with an opening pick.
  • Use the opening pick to separate any remaining adhesive from the phone's edges.

Step 12 | Remove the bracket screws

Use a Torx Plus 3IP screwdriver to remove the two 5.8 mm-long screws that secure the back glass connector bracket.

Careful not to damage battery or rear cameras.

  • Slide cover towards center using tweezers to unhook tabs.
  • Remove cover carefully.

Step 14 | Disconnect the back glass

Insert the pointed end of a spudger under each connector.

  • Pry up on the battery connector to release it.
  • Repeat for the back glass press connector.

Step 15 | Remove the back glass

Remove the Torx Plus 3IP screw using a matching driver.

  • The screw is located at the front camera and measures 5.7mm long.
  • Use a Torx Plus 3IP screwdriver to avoid damaging the surrounding components.

Remove the cover.

Remove the Torx Plus 3IP screwdriver and use it to unscrew the 5.7 mm-long screw that secures the front camera bracket.

Push the front camera bracket's clip upwards with the point of a spudger.

  • Release the clip, then remove the bracket.

Step 20 | Disconnect the front camera

Use a spudger to carefully release the front camera press connector.

Disengage the adhesive securing the front camera in place.

  • Pry the front camera up from the top edge using a tool such as an opening pick.
  • Once loose, remove the front camera.

Step 22 | Disconnect the mmWave antenna

Use the point of a spudger to carefully pry up and release the mmWave antenna press connector.

Remove the Torx Plus 3IP screw using the corresponding driver.

Be careful not to strip the screw head.

Identify the mmWave antenna secured by a 4.1 mm-long screw.

Press down on the mmWave antenna press connector with the flat end of a spudger.

Install the Torx Plus 3IP screwdriver and secure the mmWave antenna with a 4.1 mm-long screw.

Step 28 | Remove the old front camera adhesive

Use the point of a spudger and tweezers to carefully dislodge all remaining old front camera adhesive.

  • Gently scrape the adhesive away from the surrounding area.
  • Remove any remaining adhesive residue with the tweezers.

Wrap a spudger in a microfiber cloth.

  • Dampen the cloth only with one drop of high-concentration (>90%) isopropyl alcohol.
  • Clean up any adhesive residue from the front camera recess.
  • Allow the alcohol to dry completely before continuing.

Step 30 | Install new front camera adhesive

Remove the large clear liner from the front camera adhesive.

  • Gently place the liner into its recess on the device.
  • Use a spudger to press down firmly on the adhesive.

If the adhesive starts to peel up, lay it down and press it back into place before retrying.

  • Slowly peel up and remove the remaining liner from the device.

Step 31 | Check for protective caps

Remove protective cap from new front camera.

Insert the front camera into its recess with the cable facing downwards.

  • Front Camera
  • Ensure the cable is aligned at the bottom of the phone.

Press the camera firmly into place.

Careful not to touch the rear cameras.

  • Slide the top corners of the front camera bracket under the lip in the frame.
  • Press the clip in to secure it.

  • Install the 5.7mm long screw.

Step 35 | Connect the front camera

Press the front camera press connector firmly in place with your finger.

Slide the tab on the left edge of the front camera connector cover into its slot.

Apply a Torx Plus 3IP screwdriver to secure the front camera connector cover with a 5.7 mm-long screw.

Step 38 | Remove the old back glass adhesive

Remove all old adhesive and residue from the frame before applying new adhesive.

  • Scrape off as much of the old adhesive as possible with a credit card or similar tool.
  • Follow up by cleaning the area with a solvent to remove any remaining residue, then allow it to dry completely.

Be extremely careful when removing back glass adhesive to avoid damaging the battery or nearby fragile components.

  • Use the point of a spudger to carefully remove old screen adhesive from the frame, rolling it onto itself as you scrape.
  • If a large chunk forms, use tweezers to gently pull it away in the opposite direction.
  • For small chunks, apply a single drop of high-concentration (>90%) isopropyl alcohol and re-scrape with your spudger.

Wrap a microfiber or lint-free cloth around a spudger.

  • Clean the frame with the spudger and high-concentration (>90%) isopropyl alcohol, applying more as needed.
  • Allow the alcohol to dry completely before continuing.

Repeat cleaning procedures on the back glass.

  • Follow the same steps as before.
  • This will ensure a clean surface for reinstallation.

Step 42 | Orient the adhesive

Verify the back glass adhesive's positioning on the frame before application.

  • Hold the adhesive above the frame to determine its orientation.
  • Use the rear camera cutout in the liner as a reference point for visualization.

Peel down the top half of the clear liner to expose the adhesive.

  • Do not fully remove the liner at this time.

Step 44 | Install the back glass adhesive

Take your time when aligning the adhesive with the frame, as it's very sticky and cannot be moved once applied.

  • Lay the exposed top edge of the adhesive onto the frame, folding the clear liner towards the bottom of the phone.
  • Use the lip of the frame to help align the adhesive.
  • Gently press down on the top corners to secure the adhesive once it's properly aligned.

Press down firmly on the adhesive with a spudger to secure it to the frame.

Peel slowly upwards and remove the large colored liner, gripping from the cutout near the top edge.

If adhesive peels up with liner, check that spudger is fully seated. If issue persists, press down on adhesive with point of spudger.

Check the underside of your new back glass for various protective liners and pieces of tape.

  • Remove all liners from the underside of the back glass, focusing on the front camera cutouts and bottom edge.
  • Look for pull tabs to identify which liners need removal.

Position the suction handle on the back glass, propping it up on the left side with the cable aligned near its connector.

Be careful not to apply too much pressure that could damage the screen or cable.

  • Alternatively, use a sturdy object like a stack of books to prop up the back glass.

Step 50 | Reconnect the back glass and battery

Do not press connectors in the middle to avoid pin bending.

  • Press down one short side of the wider connector until it clicks into place.
  • Repeat on the other short side.
  • For misaligned connectors, press gently and re-align before applying pressure.

Use your finger to connect both back glass and battery press connectors.

  • Hold down peeling adhesive with the point of your spudger if necessary.

Step 55 | Install the back glass

Flip the back glass onto the and press it firmly into place.

  • Hold your phone up and squeeze firmly around the perimeter to strengthen the bond.
  • For an even stronger bond:
    • Stack books on the back glass.
    • Use screen vise clamps.
