Asus ZenFone 5 Lite Screen Replacement

Step 1 | Charging Port

Use a thin plastic tool to pry the back cover off, starting at one edge.

  • Slide the tool around the edges to separate the adhesive.
  • Lift the back cover once all edges are disconnected.

Keep the cover and phone close together to avoid damaging the connecting band between the touch sensor and motherboard.

Remove the seven Phillips #0 screws from the bottom of the phone.

The screw covered by a white "CS" sticker can be removed with the sticker still attached; pierce through the sticker with your screwdriver and proceed normally.

  • Insert the nylon spudger into a gap and carefully pry off the lower cover.
  • Use the opening tool to aid in lifting the cover away from its mounting points.

Hold down the charging port circuit board with one finger.

  • Pry off the hidden connection using a prying tool.

  • Identify the gold-tipped black wire connected to the charging port circuit board.
  • Pry the silver clasp loose using a plastic prying tool.

Locate the plastic prying tool and place it on the left side of the charging port.

  • Gently lift up the charging port.
  • Remove the charging port from its original position using your hand.

Step 7 | Vibration Motor

Force may be needed to detach the vibration motor, which is secured by adhesive.

  • Locate the vibration motor at the bottom right of the phone.
  • Using a plastic spudger, pry up the vibration motor from the top right corner.

Step 8 | Screen

  • Use a suction cup to remove the back cover.
  • Assisted by opening picks, continue to pry off the back cover.

Remove the two small screws with a Phillips #00 screwdriver.

  • Remove the small bracket using the same screwdriver.

  • Remove the top connector using a iFixit blue plastic opening tool.

Locate and remove five small black screws from the bottom black section of the phone using a small screwdriver.

Remove the two small silver colored screws from the same black area of the phone using a Phillips #00 screwdriver.

  • Remove the connector covering the front of the battery.
  • Use the iFixit opening tool to remove it from the circuit board.

Remove the small black clip securing the battery to the motherboard.

  • Pry the battery loose using a prying tool.
  • Completely remove the battery from its socket.

Remove the front screen connector using the iFixit opening tool.

Remove the yellow tape from the aluminum shell using a pair of small tweezers.

  • Use a suction cup to carefully lift the front screen.

  • If stuck, use picks to gently pry it free.

  • Replace the screen and reassemble your device as normal.
