Asus ZenFone 5 lite Charging Port Replacement

Risk of damage if adhesive separating.

• Use a thin plastic tool, such as a credit card or spudger, to pry the back cover off.
• Slide tool around edges to separate adhesive.
• Lift cover off once all edges are disconnected.

Keep cover and phone close together to avoid breaking connecting band between touch sensor and motherboard.

Remove the seven Phillips #0 screws from the phone's bottom.

• The screw covered by a white sticker with "CS" can be removed with the sticker still attached.
• Pierce through the sticker with a screwdriver and unscrew as normal for this one screw.

• Remove the lower cover with a nylon spudger.
• Use an opening tool to assist in lifting it free.

• Pry off the connection with a prying tool, previously hidden by the black cover.
• Hold down the charging port circuit board with one finger while prying, to prevent damage.

• Find the gold-tipped black wire connected to the charging port circuit board.
• Pry off the silver clasp using a plastic prying tool inserted underneath.

Locate the charging port.

• Insert a plastic prying tool on the left side.
• Gently lift the charging port upwards with the tool.
• Once lifted, carefully remove it from its housing by hand.
