Asus Zenfone 4 Max Screen Replacement

Replacing the screen will restore functionality and appearance of your Asus Zenfone 4 Max.

  • Ensure you have the correct replacement screen for your device model.
  • Acquire a set of specialized tools, including a plastic spudger and a suction cup.
  • Follow proper safety precautions to prevent damage and injury.
  • Disconnect the battery connector before proceeding with screen removal.
  • Remove any screws holding the old screen in place using a Phillips screwdriver.
  • Carefully pry the new screen into place, ensuring proper alignment and securing it with screws.

Step 1 | Battery

Remove screws near charging port using T3 bit and removable head screwdriver.

Insert the opening tool between the phone and back casing.

  • Pry the back off by moving the tool up and down.

Remove the bottom panel using an AT3 screwdriver.

  • Unscrew all four screws holding the panel in place.

Remove the bottom panel.

Insert an opening tool between the battery and phone.

  • Pry the battery gently out of the device.
  • To aid in removal, move the opening on either side or bottom of the battery.

  • Disconnect the battery from the device.
  • Install the replacement battery, making sure all connections are secure.

Step 7 | Camera

Remove the screws on both sides of the charging port using a removable head screwdriver with a T4 bit.

Locate the seam at any of the 4 corners of the device.

  • Use an opening tool with moderate force to pry between the back case and phone.
  • Gently move the tool around the edges towards each corner until the back is removed.
  • You will hear the casing separate from the phone; work carefully to avoid damage.

Insert the PH0 bit into a removable head screwdriver.

Locate the screw beneath the two cameras and unscrew it.

Use tweezers to carefully lift the camera flaps.

  • Remove the original cameras completely.
  • Install the new cameras in place of the removed ones.

Use a screwdriver with a PH0 bit to remove all screws from the circuit board.

Do not use excessive force, as the power cable is easily damaged.

  • Disconnect the power cable from the circuit board on the right side.
  • Leave the cable connected to the motherboard hanging loose for reconnection later.

Remove the circuit board by gently lifting it.

Disconnect the power cable located on the right side of the device, leaving it suspended.

Use a metal spudger to carefully pry the screen away from the device, working your way around the edges.

Heating the screen with a blow dryer can facilitate easier separation.

Separate the screen from the phone by gently pulling them apart.

  • The power cables should be fed through the slots on the phone.
  • Makesure to disconnect the top power cable and remove it along with the screen.
