Asus Zenfone 4 Max Charging Port Replacement

A damaged or faulty charging port may prevent your phone from charging.

  • Water, corrosion, and debris can damage the charging port.
  • This guide will assist in replacing a malfunctioning charging port.

Step 1 | Battery

  • Remove two screws with a T3 bit, one from each side of the charging port.

Wedge the opening tool gently between the phone and the back casing.

  • Moving the opening tool up and down will help pry the back off of the device.

  • Remove the bottom panel using an AT3 screwdriver.
  • Unscrew all four screws on the bottom panel.

Remove the bottom panel.

  • Insert a strong pry tool between the battery and phone.
  • Pry the battery gently out of the device.
  • The opening can be moved to either side or bottom for easier removal.

Step 6

Disconnect the old battery, then install the new battery.

Step 7 | Charging Port

  • Wedge a metal spudger under the green panel, lifting it out along with the charging port.
  • Remove the old charging port and replace it with a new one.
