ASUS ZENFONE 3 Zoom Front Camera Replacement
To replace the front camera on your Zenfone 3, ensure it's malfunctioning by checking for missing or distorted images. You'll need:
- Tweezers
- Torx T2 screwdriver
- Prying tool
- Phillips #00 screwdriver
Step 1 | Battery
Use tweezers to remove the SIM card tray.
- Pull out the SIM card tray.
- Set it aside for safekeeping.
Step 2
Remove the 2mm screws with a Torx T2 screwdriver.
Step 3
- Insert a prying tool between the screen and metal backing at the bottom of the phone.
- Fold the two pieces apart, leaving the thin film intact, with the interior facing upwards.
Step 4
Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the two 3 mm screws from the silver band.
- The screws are located at the top of the battery.
- Remove the band after the screws have been removed.
Step 5
Remove and carefully peel away the silver tape.
Step 6
Disconnect the battery connections.
Step 7
Remove the battery carefully, as the underside has adhesive.
- Pry the battery using a tool or implement (no specific tool mentioned).
- Apply gentle force to avoid damaging surrounding components.
Step 8 | Front Camera
Remove the copper adhesive by peeling it off.
Step 9
Disconnect the front camera cable.
