Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom Battery Replacement
You'll need these tools: tweezers, Torx T2 screwdriver, prying tool, and Phillips #00 screwdriver.
- This repair is required if your Zenfone 3's battery has been damaged, won't hold a charge, or drains quickly.
Step 1 | Battery
Use tweezers to gently pull out the SIM card tray and place it aside.
Step 2
Remove the Torx T2 screwdriver required screws.
- Two 2 mm screws need to be removed.
- Use a Torx T2 screwdriver for this task.
Step 3
Insert a prying tool between the screen and metal backing at the bottom.
Be careful, as there is a thin film connecting the two pieces.
The film does not need to be removed; instead, fold the two pieces apart with the inside facing up.
Step 4
- Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove two 3mm screws from the silver band.
- Once removed, take off the entire silver band.
Step 5
Remove the silver protective covering.
Step 6
Disconnect the battery connectors.
Step 7
Be gentle when prying the battery as its underside has an adhesive.
- Pry the battery away from its mounting point.
- Remove the battery once it is free.
