Asus ZenFone 2 Disassembly
This repair requires prerequisite knowledge and skills. Ensure you have completed the necessary training or procedures before starting.
Step 1 | Removing the Back Cover
Locate the back cover release point.
- Use a fingernail to gently pry off the back cover.
- Slide your finger around the edges of the phone until the cover pops off.
Step 2 | Remove the Inner Cover Screws
Remove the 13 black screws (2.8 mm in length) and the single silver screw (5.5 mm in length) from the back of the phone using a JIS size 00 screwdriver.
- Look for the black screw covered by a sticker next to the camera and flash.
- The sticker can be easily pierced through with the point of the screwdriver. Treat it as if there were no sticker on top.
Step 3 | Remove the Inner Cover
Use a plastic opening tool to pry off the inner phone backing.
- Insert the plastic opening tool under the inner backing near the double-sided tape strips.
- Lift up gently to loosen the backing, taking care not to damage surrounding components.
Step 4 | Remove the Speaker
Locate the speaker unit for reference during reassembly.
- Remove the inner back panel.
- The speaker should now be freely accessible, allowing easy removal from the phone's back.
