Asus Zenfone 10 Battery Replacement

Step 1 | Remove SIM card tray

Power down the device.

  • Use a SIM ejector tool to remove the SIM card tray.

Step 2 | Remove back cover

Apply gentle heat with a heat gun to the adhesive around the edges of the back cover.

  • Wait for the adhesive to soften, then use an opening pick to gently pry the back cover away from the phone along the edge.

Step 3 | Remove top cover

Remove the nine highlighted screws using a Phillips #000 screwdriver or a bit.

  • The orange-highlighted screw has a decal; remove it with a sharp instrument like a flathead screwdriver bit.
  • The red-highlighted screw is different from the others.

Step 4 | Remove bottom cover

Remove the Phillips #000 Screw using a Phillips #000 Screwdriver or a suitable bit.

The screw with an orange decal may require removal of its label before screw extraction; use a sharp instrument, such as a flathead screwdriver bit.

Step 5 | Remove bottom circuit board

Use an opening pick to carefully pry away the circuit board.

  • Carefully disconnect the two flat cables from the circuit board using the same opening pick.

Step 6 | Replace the USB-C port

Remove the flat cable from the case.

  • Apply heat to the flat cable if it's stuck due to strong adhesive.
  • Install the new part in the area where the old one was located.
  • Peel off the blue protective film from the new cable before installation, as this will adhere to surfaces if left intact.

Step 7 | Replace the battery

  • Gently bend the charging port cable away from the working area.
  • Battery cable: disconnect it.
  • To ease battery removal, apply IPA along the perimeter and use a plastic prying tool to lift it out carefully. Be cautious not to pierce the battery.
  • Remove old adhesive with IPA and plastic prying tool.
  • Apply new adhesive between the new battery and case.
  • Install the new battery, reconnect the cable, and complete the repair.
