ASUS PadFone X Power and Volume Buttons Replacement

If buttons are sticky or unresponsive, proceed with caution.

  • Remove the phone casing.
  • Identify and locate the faulty button contacts.
  • Gently clean the button contacts using a soft brush.
  • Reassemble your phone in reverse order.

Use the blue plastic opening tool to pry off the back cover.

Be prepared for potential resistance, requiring some force.

  • Remove thirteen T5 Torx screws.
  • Use a T5 Torx Screwdriver for this task.

Lift mid-frame off phone after removing screws.

Grasp the button strip with tweezers.

  • Pull the buttons upwards gently.
  • The buttons should remove easily.

Be careful not to damage the connector with excessive force.

  • Disconnect the orange sensor strip using a blue plastic opening tool.

Step 6

Hold the tweezers firmly and grasp the sensor.

  • Pull the sensor directly outwards, away from the phone.
  • Be prepared to apply gentle but firm pressure as the sensor is held in place by adhesive.
