ASUS PadFone X Battery Replacement
Make sure to replace the battery with one designed for your PadFone X to avoid damage.
- Power down your device and unplug any charging cables.
- Remove the SIM card and SD cards from their slots.
Locate the screws on the lower edge of the device and remove them using a Phillips head screwdriver.
- Carefully pry open the phone's casing, starting with the bottom edge.
- Raise the battery out of its compartment, taking note of any connectors that may be attached.
Take care not to damage the device or its components during this process.
Step 1 | Remove the back panel.
Insert the blue plastic opening tool tip into the crease between the back cover and the phone.
- Pry the back cover upwards using a gentle prying motion.
- Continue working your way around the phone, loosening the back cover entirely.
Step 2 | Remove the screws.
Use a Torx T5 bit on the screwdriver to remove the 13 3.6 mm screws.
Step 3 | Remove the Mid-Frame
Use a blue plastic opening tool to gently pry the mid-frame away from the phone's body, starting between the mid-frame and the phone.
- Insert the tip of the tool into the crease and push upwards to loosen the back cover.
- Repeat this process around the phone until the entire back cover is removed, then lift out the mid-frame.
Step 4 | Remove the Battery Connector
Excessive force can damage the connector.
Use a blue plastic opening tool to disconnect the battery cable from the motherboard.
Step 5 | Remove the battery.
Apply gentle force with the blue plastic opening tool along the edge of the phone away from the motherboard, being careful not to damage it.
- The battery pack is held in place by double-sided tape, so additional force may be required.
- Pry the battery pack out slowly and carefully using the blue plastic opening tool.
