Asus Padfone X Mini Camera Replacement

Locate the groove on the bottom right side of the phone.

• Use a plastic opening tool to lift up from the groove.
• This will remove the outside cover; note that this is not the speaker cover.

Lift the battery straight up and away from the top of the device.

• Remove all T5 Torx screws around the perimeter.

Make sure to remove the correct number, 10 screws, each with a 2 mm head.

• Once removed, carefully take off the cover.

Turn the cover over.

• The speaker is located on the inside of the cover, positioned to the right of the camera hole.

Remove the speaker carefully with standard tweezers to avoid damaging it.

• Replace the old speaker with a new one.

Detach the black connector from its socket on the motherboard's left-hand side.

Do not fully disconnect the black connector — leave it attached to the motherboard for future reassembly.

Locate and disconnect the silver connector, situated above the black connector on the left-hand side of the motherboard.

• Disconnect the power cables from the motherboard.
• Remove the motherboard from the device.
• Next, detach the screen from its mounting brackets using a screwdriver or other suitable tool.
• Replace the screen with the new one and secure it back into place.
• Finally, reattach the motherboard to the device and reconnect the power cables.

Flip the motherboard over.

Use tweezers to remove the connector linking the camera to the motherboard.

Remove the old camera.

• Insert the new camera by aligning the camera connector with the receiver.
• Slide the camera connector into place.
