Press and hold the power button

Use a plastic opening tool to carefully pry off the back cover of the phone.

Be cautious when handling the battery and its connecting cord — risk of damage.

• Remove the warning sticker covering the battery plug and cord.
• Lift out the battery using a plastic opening tool, starting from the widest gap on either side.
• The battery is secured by adhesive, so avoid damaging it or its connecting cord.
• Use tweezers to disconnect the battery's connecting cord.

Use a T5 Torx screwdriver to remove 14 screws from the internal back plate.

Note that the screws on either side of the Audio socket are shorter and must not be replaced with longer screws, as this may damage the display.

• Keep track of the screws using a magnetic pad.
• Remove the plate once all screws have been taken out.

Remove the back cover.

• Multitouch cord: Disconnect by pulling towards the bottom of the phone.
• Display cable: Carefully peel off heat dispatching tape and pull out towards the bottom of the phone.
• Bottom board connector: Remove the heat dispatching tape, then pop up and disconnect from the main board.
• Antenna connectors: Lift up and pull up to move them out of the way.

Position the plastic opening tool beside the screen.

• Verify that all cables are disconnected and free of obstructions.
• Remove the screen assembly from the metal frame.

Use caution when removing the screen, risk of shattering if excessive force used.

• Remove the screen from its frame using a plastic opening tool.
• The delicate gasket between the screen and frame is not included with the new screen. Handle it carefully during removal.

Remove the sim tray.

• Replace with a new screen assembly.
