Step 1 | Rear Panel

Ensure the device is turned off.

  • Use a plastic opening tool to gently pry the back panel away from the device's edges.

Step 2 | Battery

Remove adhesive strips.

  • Disconnect the battery connector: Carefully pull down on it with a spudger or plastic opening tool.

Remove all Touch Connectors using a spudger or plastic opener tool.

  • Next, disconnect the ZIF connectors holding the battery.
  • Alternatively, use your hand to remove ZIF connectors.
  • Be careful when removing ZIF connectors as they are delicate.

Step 4 | Remove Battery

Be careful when prying the battery, as it may be stuck to its mounting pad.

  • Use a plastic opening tool to gently pry the battery loose from its pad.
  • A bit of pressure may be required to completely remove the battery.

Step 5 | Power Management

Disconnect the cable.

  • Remove the two Philips #0 screws holding the power management board in place.
  • Remove the remaining Philips #0 screw.

Step 6 | MotherBoard

Remove the GPS antenna using a spudger.

  • Disconnect the GPS connector.

Step 7 | Power and Volume Buttons

Disconnect the power and volume connector.

Step 8 | Earpiece

Disconnect the Earpiece connector.

Step 9 | Display Cable

Disconnect the Display connector from the motherboard.

Step 10 | MotherBoard

Remove four Philips #0 screws from the motherboard.

Step 11 | Components

Disconnect all cables and wires from the circuit board.

  • Remove any screws or clips holding the components in place.
  • Gently lift out each component by its edges, taking care not to touch pins or terminals.

Step 12 | Remove Glass (TouchScreen)
