Discharge the battery below 25% before disassembling your phone to prevent thermal events and ensure safety.
Power down your device completely.
Apply a suction cup to the back of the phone, centered at the bottom edge.
Use strong, steady force to create a gap between the back cover and the frame, be cautious of difficulty due to age.
Slide the pick back and forth along the bottom edge to cut through the adhesive.
Make sure not to remove the pick, as this will allow the adhesive to reseal.
Apply heat from an iOpener to the left edge of the back cover for 2 minutes.
Be careful not to insert the pick too far (no more than 5 mm) — internal damage risk.
Do not cut the adhesive past the camera shell
Apply a iOpener to the right edge of the back cover and heat it for 2 minutes.
Do not insert the opening pick more than 3 mm to avoid damaging the secondary interconnect cable.
Insert an opening pick into the right edge of the back cover.
Insert a right-edge opening pick into the top-right corner of the phone.
Place the top-most opening pick near the camera area.

Slide an opening pick between the camera shell and the frame to break the adhesive.
Multiple rounds of heating may be necessary due to significant adhesive securing the frame to the camera shell.
The pick may catch on the plate surrounding the phone's flash, so angle it downwards carefully.
Line up the opening pick's tip with your phone's flash.
Remove the back cover.
If the back cover remains stuck to the frame, gently slide a pick around its edges until it separates completely.
Remove any remaining adhesive chunks with tweezers or fingers.
Use high concentration (over 90%) isopropyl alcohol to wipe away any adhesive residue.
Remove the motherboard bracket using a Phillips screwdriver. The five 4 mm-long screws will need to be stored separately for later reassembly.
Use tweezers to carefully lift and unclip the motherboard bracket from the frame.
Do not fully remove the bracket at this time, as it remains attached to the wireless charging coil.
Hold the motherboard bracket aside using tweezers or your fingers.
Never press down on the middle of the connector, as misalignment can cause bent pins and permanent damage.
Hold the motherboard bracket aside using one hand.
Remove the wireless charging coil by gently peeling it away from the phone with your fingers.
Use the point of a spudger to gently pry up the earpiece speaker cable's press connector, then disconnect it.
