This guide is for installing a new rear-facing camera.
Remove stylus cap by grasping it and pulling it out of its slot.
Use a plastic opening tool or your finger nail to pry in the small indentation located to the right of the rear-facing camera.
Lift the rear case off the phone.
Insert your finger into the battery compartment notch.
Press the microSD card gently with the flat end of a spudger or your fingernail to hear the click.
Locate and carefully remove the microSD card from its slot within the device's midframe.
Push the SIM card out of its compartment using a plastic opening tool or your fingertip.
Remove the nine 3.4 mm Phillips #00 screws
Locate the gap between the midframe and the front panel assembly to the left of the power button.
Insert the plastic opening tool into the seam and gently slide it downwards.
Insert the plastic opening tool to the left of the headphone jack between the midframe and display assembly.
Remove the midscreen by gently prying it away from the display.
Disconnect the display cable connector using the flat end of a spudger.
Use a spudger to carefully disconnect the front-facing camera assembly cable connector.
Remove the two 3.4 mm Phillips #00 screws holding the motherboard to the display assembly.
Disconnect the motherboard cables and gently lift out the motherboard assembly.
Use a plastic opening tool to flip the release tab of the rear-facing camera cable ZIF connector.
Insert the spudger tip into the gap beside the rear-facing camera cable at the ZIF connector.
Careful not to damage the light adhesive.
Disconnect and remove the rear-facing camera.
