Samsung Galaxy Note Midframe Replacement

This repair guide is for replacing or removing the midframe of your Galaxy Note device.

Step 1 | Rear Case

Insert a plastic opening tool or your finger into the recess located beside the rear-facing camera and below the volume control.

Remove the rear case by lifting it off the phone.

  • Pry carefully with a suitable tool to release any clips or adhesive.
  • Gently lift the rear case away from the phone's body.

Step 3 | Battery

  • Insert your finger into the battery compartment's notch.
  • Press the battery toward the rear-facing camera, then pull it outwards.

Step 4 | MicroSD Card

Use the flat end of a spudger or your fingernail to press the microSD card slightly deeper.

  • Until you hear a click.
  • Release the card and it will pop out.

Forcing the card can damage it, be gentle.

Reassembly: Push the microSD card into the slot until it clicks in place.

Remove the microSD card from its slot in the midframe.

Step 6 | SIM Card

Use a plastic opening tool or your fingertip to push the SIM card out of its compartment.

Slide the SIM card fully out using your thumb, then remove it from the device.

Step 8 | Midframe

  • Remove nine 3.4 mm Phillips #00 screws holding the midframe to the display assembly.

Insert plastic opening tool to the left of the power button, between the midframe and front panel assembly. Pry carefully.

Slide the plastic opening tool along the seam.

Insert plastic opening tool on left side of headphone jack between midframe and display assembly.

  • Slide tool along top edge of phone.
  • Continue running tool around perimeter until midframe is separated.

Step 12

Remove midframe from display assembly.
