This repair guide is for replacing the headphone jack and earpiece speaker on a Samsung Galaxy Note device.
Grasp the stylus cap and remove it from the midframe slot.
Use a plastic opening tool or your fingertip to pry in the small indentation next to the volume rocker.
Remove the rear case from the phone by lifting it off.
Insert your finger into the battery compartment's notch.
Use the flat end of a spudger or your fingernail to press the microSD card slightly deeper.
You will hear a click when it is seated correctly.
Remove the microSD card from its slot in the midframe.
Push the SIM card out of its compartment using a plastic opening tool or your fingertip.
Use your thumb to push the SIM card out completely.
Remove the nine 3.4 mm Phillips #00 screws securing the midframe.
Locate the area to the left of the power button and insert a plastic opening tool into the gap between the midframe and the front panel assembly.
Insert the plastic opening tool into the seam and slide it downwards.
Insert the plastic opening tool between the midframe and display assembly, left of the headphone jack.
Disconnect all connectors and cables attached to the midframe.
Disengage the headphone jack/earpiece speaker assembly cable using the flat end of a spudger.
Remove the 2 x 3mm Phillips #00 screws securing the upper display assembly bracket.
Remove the upper display assembly bracket using a pair of tweezers or your fingers.
Use the flat end of a spudger to disconnect the headphone jack/earpiece speaker assembly connector.
Insert the pointed end of a spudger into the headphone jack's recess and carefully pry it loose.
Remove the headphone jack/earpiece speaker assembly from the display assembly using tweezers or your fingers.
