To avoid injury and contain shattered fragments while you work, secure any cracked display glass with tape.
Apply clear packing tape in successive layers across the iPhone screen, ensuring complete coverage of the display surface.
To prevent scattered fragments and maintain stability during the display separation process, this technique ensures containment and supports the assembly.
To safeguard your eyes from potential glass fragments released during the repair process, always use safety glasses.

Step 2 | Display Assembly

Step 2 image
Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, detach the two screws securing the dock connector.

Step 3

Step 3 image
For improved handling and safety, detach the metal handle from the suction cup, as gripping the suction cup's base provides a more secure hold.
Exercise extreme caution during iPhone disassembly to prevent damage to the delicate display cables.
A black display assembly is sealed to the silver front bezel by a rubber gasket; separation necessitates applying moderate pressure.
Carefully lift the bottom edge of the iPhone's display assembly by applying gentle upward force with a suction cup positioned close to the Home button.
When the display assembly's surface prevents a secure bond for the suction cup, secure the area with a robust adhesive tape, like duct tape, instead.

Step 4

Step 4 image
Several cables continue to secure the display assembly to the iPhone's internal components; therefore, avoid attempting complete separation at this stage.
Position the display assembly so it forms roughly a 45-degree angle with its original plane.

Step 5

Step 5 image
Using one hand to secure the display assembly, carefully detach the ribbon cable marked with the identifier "1" with a spudger in your other hand.

Step 6

Step 6 image
Position the display assembly so it stands approximately perpendicular.
Removing the component provides improved clearance, simplifying the process of detaching the remaining cables.
Carefully detach the ribbon cable marked with the identifier "2" using a spudger.

Step 7

Step 7 image
Carefully lift the black plastic retaining tab, securing the ribbon cable, with a spudger.
Rotating the tab 90 degrees will disengage the ribbon cable.
Exercise caution when manipulating the tab, as it is susceptible to damage; lift it gently to release the cable and lower it carefully to secure it.
Certain iPhone models feature a white plastic tab, differing from the standard black color.
Carefully disconnect the ribbon cable from its receptacle, then detach the display assembly from the iPhone.

Step 8 | Earpiece Speaker

Step 8 image
Using a Phillips head screwdriver, size #00, detach the display assembly by unscrewing the single screw located at its corner.

Step 9

Carefully lift the right ear speaker cover assembly by inserting the flat edge of a spudger beneath its right side.
Avoid complete separation; the component remains affixed via two connections.
Employ the spudger, rotating it so the pointed end faces the clips, and gently disengage the two fasteners holding the assembly's top in place.
After releasing the retaining clips, raise the cover assembly vertically away from the device.

Using a spudger, insert its tip into the gap located beneath the ear speaker’s upper right corner, then carefully lift upwards.
Exercise caution, as the speaker's upper section is prone to separation from its lower half, potentially releasing the internal coil; ensure the complete unit is lifted during this process.
Carefully disengage the ear speaker from the housing by raising it vertically.
