To mitigate the risk of additional shattering and potential injury while repairing a cracked display glass, secure it with tape.
Apply strips of transparent packing tape across the iPhone screen, ensuring complete coverage by slightly overlapping each successive strip.
To prevent shattered glass fragments from spreading and to maintain the assembly's stability during the display separation process, maintain this precaution.
To safeguard your eyes from potential glass fragments released during the repair process, always use safety glasses.

Step 2 | Display Assembly

Step 2 image
Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, detach the two screws securing the dock connector.

Step 3

Step 3 image
For improved handling and safety, detach the metal handle from the suction cup; gripping the base of the suction cup directly provides a more secure hold.
Exercise extreme caution during iPhone disassembly to prevent damage to the delicate display cables.
A black display assembly is sealed to the silver front bezel by a rubber gasket; separation necessitates applying moderate pressure.
Carefully lift the lower edge of the iPhone's display assembly by applying gentle upward force with a suction cup positioned close to the Home button.
When the display assembly's surface prevents a secure bond for the suction cup, secure it temporarily with a robust adhesive tape, like duct tape.

Step 4

Because multiple cables secure the display assembly to the iPhone’s internal components, avoid complete separation at this stage.
Tilt the display assembly upwards, achieving roughly a 45-degree angle.

Step 5

Using one hand to secure the display assembly, carefully detach the ribbon cable marked with the identifier "1" with a spudger held in your other hand.

Step 6

  1. Adjust the display assembly's orientation to a near-vertical position to simplify the process of disconnecting the remaining cables.

  2. Carefully detach the ribbon cable identified with the label "2" by employing a spudger.

Step 7

Step 7 image
  1. Employing a spudger, carefully lift the black plastic tab—which will then rotate upward by 90 degrees—to disengage the securing hold on the remaining ribbon cable.

  2. Exercise caution when manipulating the tab, as it is susceptible to damage; lift it gently to release the cable and lower it carefully to secure it.

  3. Certain iPhone models feature a white plastic tab, differing from the standard black color.

  4. Carefully disconnect the ribbon cable from its receptacle, then detach the display assembly from the iPhone.
