To mitigate the risk of additional shattering and potential injury while repairing a cracked display glass, secure it with tape.
Apply strips of transparent packing tape across the iPhone screen, ensuring complete coverage by layering them until the entire display surface is protected.
To prevent scattered glass fragments and maintain stability during the display separation process, this technique is essential.
To safeguard your eyes from potential glass fragments that may detach during the repair process, it is essential to use safety glasses.

Step 2 | Camera

Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, detach the two screws securing the dock connector.

Step 3

Step 3 image
For improved handling and safety, detach the metal handle from the suction cup; gripping the suction cup's base directly provides a more secure hold.
A black display assembly is sealed to the silver front bezel by a rubber gasket, and disassembling these components necessitates applying moderate pressure.
Exercise extreme caution during iPhone disassembly to prevent damage to the delicate display cables.
Carefully lift the lower edge of the iPhone's display assembly by applying gentle upward force with a small suction cup positioned close to the Home button.
When the display assembly's surface prevents a secure bond for the suction cup, employ robust adhesive tape, like duct tape, as an alternative.

Step 4

Step 4 image
Before completely separating the display assembly from the iPhone, be aware that multiple cables maintain the connection and attempting to do so prematurely could cause damage.
Tilt the display assembly upwards, achieving roughly a 45-degree angle.

Step 5

Step 5 image
Using one hand to secure the display assembly, employ a spudger with your other hand to detach the ribbon cable identified as '1'.

Step 6

Step 6 image
Adjust the display assembly's orientation to a near-vertical position to simplify the process of disconnecting the remaining cables.
Carefully detach the ribbon cable identified with the label "2" using a spudger.

Step 7

Step 7 image
Before detaching ribbon cable "3", its securing FPC connector must be released; accomplish this by utilizing a plastic spudger to lift the white retaining tab, which will rotate 90 degrees to disengage the ribbon cable.
Carefully disconnect the black ribbon cable by sliding it from its connector, then detach the display assembly from the iPhone.

Step 8

Step 8 image
Using a SIM eject tool or a straightened paper clip, gently push into the small aperture located adjacent to the headphone jack.
Apply pressure to the tool, ensuring it extends the SIM card tray from its housing.
Using your fingers, gently push the SIM card tray outward from the iPhone until it is fully ejected.

The logic board is attached to the rear panel using five screws; each is 2.3 mm in length, features a Phillips #00 head, and has partial threads.
The logic board and camera are fastened using two screws; each is a full-thread Phillips #00 screw, measuring 2.3 mm in diameter.
Locate the "Do not remove" sticker and, underneath it, you will find a 2.9 mm Phillips #00 screw.

Step 14

Step 14 image
Carefully leverage a spudger to release the camera assembly from its rear panel housing; note that the camera remains tethered to the logic board at its base and is not fully detachable at this stage.

Step 15

Step 15 image
Carefully lift the logic board's edge, near the dock connector, using a spudger to avoid damage.
Verify that each of the screws holding the logic board in place has been completely unscrewed if you encounter difficulty separating the board.

Step 16
